Blanca Estrada Taqueria

Blanca Estrada Taqueria is a recent addition to downtown Charleston’s dining scene, located near Le Farfalle. Launched by chef Michael Toscano, best known for Le Farfalle and Da Toscano, this taqueria pays homage to his Mexican heritage through the flavors and stories of his mother, Blanca, and grandmother, Estrada—the restaurant’s namesakes.

A casual yet chef-driven concept, Blanca Estrada began as a pop-up taco stand in a former UPS storefront and has quickly gained attention for its from-scratch approach to Mexican street food. The kitchen prepares its own masa for tortillas and serves an array of dishes like carne asada, carnitas, and pollo tacos alongside fresh salsas and bright tequila-based cocktails. Guests can order at the counter and enjoy their meal on the patio shared with Le Farfalle or at the taqueria’s cozy bar seating for a more intimate experience. 15 Beaufain St.

While this location currently operates as a limited-run pop-up, it previews Toscano’s future plans for a permanent taqueria in Charleston.
